Renzo has been working hard on the 2nd beer festival that we are sponsoring this summer. Anyone that was aboard The Island Belle a couple of months ago for "The Offshore Pour", Fairfield counties first ever beer festival, will tell you that it was a great time on a perfect day with lots of good food, fun, music and of course beer. Most of the summer is in our rearview mirror and now we get into a different style of beer. Gone are the Summer lagers, and in come the Octoberfest and Pumpkin beers. Épernay is a small, pretty town about 16 miles or 26km south of Reims, making it an excellent base for exploring the region's vineyards and attractions. Strolling around on the town's splendid tree-lined streets, one can visit the Avenue de Champagne, where several of the most famous champagne Maisons are located. The town also boasts several incredible examples of 18th and 19th century architecture.

July 4th is almost here! If you haven't planned your week celebrating America yet, hopefully the below list of firework displays in the area can help.

2- Bridgeport Bluefish Fireworks on July 3
Enjoy the game and the Fireworks Extravaganza presented by Fairfield County Bank on July 3.
3- Danbury 2012 Fireworks June 30
Rain date, Sunday July 1st start at dusk.
4- Darien 2012 Fireworks July 1

5- Fairfield 2012 Fireworks July 4
Beach Parking Permits are not required and parking is free after 6:00 PM at both the Penfield and Jennings parking lots.
6- Greenwich 2012 Fireworks Saturday July 7
Two locations: Binney Park and Greenwich Point Park. Both displays are scheduled for Saturday, July 7, with a rain date of Sunday, July 8.
7- Milford Westfield CT Post Mall Fireworks Show July 3
Bands start at 7 pm
8- New Milford 2012 Fireworks Celebration July 7
9- Ridgefield 2012 Fireworks July 4

This year's PAL Fireworks are sponsored by Melissa and Doug, LLC. Tickets can be purchased at the Westport Police Department at 50 Jesup Road and at the Westport Parks and Recreation office at 260 Compo Road South in Westport. Firework tickets are $30 per car. Rain date July 5, 2012.
